The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Fontana, California for the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway. Last year’s event saw “Superman” Jimmie Johnson seize victory on a late race restart.
MENCS points leader Kyle Larson qualified on pole and has been fast all weekend. Martin Truex, Jr. and Chase Elliott have been fast as well. Elliott hit the wall late in final practice on Saturday but the team repaired the damage and he should be fast this afternoon.
Truex’s Furniture Row Racing teammate Erik Jones has been quick as well. At a DraftKings price point of $7,700 and a 14th place starting position, Jones should receive thorough consideration for your roster. Jamie McMurray (DK $7,500) has shown decent speed this season and his teammate Larson appears as though he has the car to beat. McMurray starts eighth but has a decent enough race car and price point to make him rosterable.
Ones to Watch:
Joey Logano and Jimmie Johnson should be considered must-owns for DFS considering their respective starting positions of 35th and 37th. They will start the race on sticker tires and should surge through the field quickly.
Larson appears to have the car to beat, but don’t count out the Furniture Row Racing teammates Truex and Jones. Hamlin qualified second and could be fast, but place differential is key in DFS. Logano and Johnson should undoubtedly be on your roster.
Disclaimer: Remember, these are just my opinions as far as who I think will perform well and you should still do your own research before setting your team. At the end of the day, you’re responsible for your own team and remember: anything can happen in racing.
